A film, not a video.

Most family videos sit in a drawer. A Legacy House story is something different — a true documentary, made with the same care as the films you'd watch on a Sunday evening. Interviews. Archival photographs. Music. A story shaped with intention, by people who do this for a living.

Whether your film stays in the family or reaches a wider audience is entirely your decision. We've made both.

Two kinds of stories. One standard of craft.

Private Family Films

Private Family Films

Biographies and family documentaries made for the people who love you most. A portrait of a parent. A grandmother's life, in her own voice. The story of how a family came to be. Films range from intimate fifteen-minute portraits to feature-length family histories. Yours to keep. Yours to share — or not.

For the lives and legacies that belong to a wider audience. Founders, civic leaders, artists, philanthropists, and the families whose stories have shaped a community. Film Festival-quality filmmaking for your person.

The hardest part isn't making the film.

The hardest part isn't making the film.

It's deciding to make it before you wish you had.

The people whose stories you most want to keep are often the ones who'd never ask to be filmed. They'd say there's nothing remarkable about their life. They'd be wrong. We'd be honored to show them — and you — exactly why.

Quietly, carefully, and with great respect.

Legacy House is based in Eagle, Idaho, and works with families across the Treasure Valley and beyond. Every film is a private undertaking. We move at the pace of the people we're filming. We protect what's shared with us. And we don't begin a project we don't believe we can do beautifully.

How a film comes together.

How a film comes together.

Every film begins with a conversation — about the person, the family, the story you want told. From there, we shape a project that fits both.

A shorter portrait, around fifteen minutes, is often the right choice for honoring a single person's life — built around a few interviews, family photographs, and the music that meant something to them. Longer films, up to an hour, allow for multiple generations, more voices, archival footage, and travel to the places that shaped the story.

Investment begins at $7,500 and is shaped by the length and scope of the film. We'll walk you through every option before you decide.

A first conversation is simply that — a conversation. Tell us a little about who, and we'll tell you what a film could look like. No pressure, no commitment, no rush.
